New digs

Hello folks! Well, here we are in autumn again. It may not be autumn where you live, but in Whitehorse, it is in full swing, with bright yellow and orange poplars, crisp air... and even a couple of dustings of snow. That's come a little early, even for our northern tastes. With fall comes change, a shift in life's rhythms. The Frantic Follies have wrapped up for the 2012 season, and the stage has been torn down and stowed away for another year. My daughters have started school, eagerly making new friends and learning new skills. I've been neglecting the blog again because I have been hard at work creating a brand-new website. If you are getting this blog post in your e-mail, you won't notice (you'll have to click through to my site to see) but the new site design has been consuming many waking hours for weeks now. (Just ask my husband!) It's still not exactly the way I want it to be, but it's getting closer. The main reason for moving to a new site was to make it more flexible. On the old one, I wouldn't have been able to add a store, for example, and wouldn't that be a shame when I plan to have a new album to sell in a few months' time? I also wanted to add a newsletter sign-up page. Why would you want to sign up for my newsletter when you're already signed up for my blog, you might wonder? Well, this blog is where I share my thoughts with you, where I can ask for your thoughts and opinions in return. The newsletter will be for sharing news about my recording project, new video releases, performance dates, and so on. There will be some overlap, but the newsletters won't be as frequent. Plus, when you sign up, if you tell me where you live and other details, I can tailor the newsletter to you more specifically. So go ahead! Click over to that newsletter page and sign up. (Did I forget to mention that you can get a free MP3 download of my song "I'm a Fool for You" when you sign up?) Now that the website has its basic shape in place, I can shift some of my focus back to the real work. The next few months are packed, and I couldn't be more excited! In two weeks, I'll be hitting the road with my family to play three gigs out in eastern Canada. Two of them will be in Iqaluit, capital of Nunavut (where I graduated from high school, by the way) and one will be in Ottawa. You can check out my show schedule for more details. Next month, I'll be spending two weeks in the recording studio, working on my new album, Bedroom Voice. A lot of details are still up in the air, and I'm giddy about working them all out and getting down to the real deal of making music. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at a photo taken by the talented Christian Kuntz during a recent shoot for the album artwork. I quite like this one, although I don't think it's "the one" that is going to make it onto the album cover. Finally, for those of you subscribed to my blog, I apologize for the onslaught of posts earlier today. I was testing out a new layout for the Listen! page, and it required a couple of test posts. Tell me, how is September shaping up for you?

Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön
Wie noch kein Auge je geseh’n!
O, wenn ich sie nur finden könnte!
O, wenn sie doch schon vor mir stände!

:-)

Fawn, the new website looks fantastic! (I usually keep up via Google Reader.) I’m glad I popped by. You’re so gorgeous AND talented! I’m certain your hard work will keep paying off. Keep it up! :-D

We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy:D

Not only do you sound sultry and divine, but you look it, too!!

Congratulations to you, Fawn. For the new website, and for
your singing career! You are an inspiration.

P.S. Ask hubby if you both want to hire a Nanny;)

Best Regards,

Nancy
