So in love

Golly, it's been over a month since I last blogged! I just finished up a week of exciting workshops at the Yukon Summer Music Camp (with the marvellous Vancouver jazz singer, Karin Plato), and before that I was recovering from my whirlwind trip to Thailand. (Thailand! Is beautiful! And also delicious!) I'm also working with my producer, Daniel Janke, on my first full-length album recording, which I hope to have out early next year. Also, I did two very fun gigs back-to-back this week — one at the MacBride Museum here in town and the other at the Village Bakery in gorgeous Haines Junction, Yukon. So my plate is kinda full. I have a bunch of blog topics to write about, but haven't gotten around to being eloquent. So, instead of being eloquent, how about I finally post the third video from May's Cole Porter show? So in Love is a well-known ballad from Porter's show Kiss Me, Kate. It is sometimes done as a solo piece; originally, though, it was written as a duet. For this show, I wanted to do the duet version, because I've been wanting to sing with Dave Haddock for a long time. I'm so glad I finally got to do it. Dave such  a pure pleasure to work with and to sing with. He has a wonderful voice, and isn't his guitar playing just gorgeous? (Answer: YES!) I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed performing this piece. [youtube="http://youtu.be/4bN7y_dqiCw"]

That was a great version and Dave still gets his fingers around the guitar just fine! Good work.
